Lynda Kerney, LCV 04, informs us that First 5 Riverside is now offering New Capacity for High Need Areas Grants to fund community-based projects that support children from birth through age 5 in Riverside County. Roman Whittaker, LCV 03, has started a new law practice with fellow attorney John Anderholt III. Anderholt Whittaker LLP will be located on the upper level of The Gardens on El Paseo across from Sullivan's Steakhouse. The new office should be open by mid-April. Lynda J. Kerney, LCV 04, is seeking a volunteer for potential appointment to the Riverside County REVERSAL (Reverse Euthanasia Vowing Everyone’s Responsibility to Save Animal Lives) Task Force. Jennifer James, LCV 10, regretted missing the January session. She delivered baby daughter Sierra at 7:37 am on session day, January 15. Mother and baby are doing well. Congratulations!
 
Scott Hines, LCV 09 and Ken Gregory, LCV 07, are both running for a seat on the Rancho Mirage City Council.
 
Mary Hansen-Faris, LCV 08; Wes Faris, LCV 09; and Ben Papinaw, LCV 10, are now with Wells Fargo Advisors in Rancho Mirage.
 
Leisa Lukes, LCV 08, has been elected to the position of Director-Elect of the American Planning Association’s California Chapter, Inland Empire Section for 2010 and as Section Director for 2011 and 2012.
 
Mike Chedester, LCV 10, was recently elected Vice President of Cabot's Museum Foundation.
 
Jim Turney, LCV 07, recently opened his own private law practice in La Quinta, Law Offices of James C. Turney. The thrust of his prior experience was in the budding field of renewable energy. Mitch Blumberg, LCV 09, has been recently named the Deputy Executive Director of DesertArc. DesertArc, based in Palm Desert, has been enhancing the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in the Coachella Valley since 1959.
 
Mike Osgood, LCV 07, is now the Managing Director of Global Sales with Preferred Golf. He creates packages for the individual and group golfer at the "Best of the Best" Golf Resorts worldwide.
 
Mark Paul, LCV 01, sells yellow page & internet advertising as a Senior Account Executive for The User-Friendly Phone Book & TheDesert247.com. He is still the SAG Director (11 years) for Tour de Palm Springs coming up on February 12 & 13, 2010, and is a Board Member for Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.
 
Rob Anzalone, LCV 06, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of DeertArc effective January 1, 2010. DesertArc, based in Palm Desert, has been enhancing the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in the Coachella Valley since 1959.
